A brief history into the Haas Family.
The Haas Corporation created a publishing powerhouse of 54 titles both free and paid circulation. Their portfolio included the Apartment Guide (the nation’s leading resource to find an apartment – 44 total cities), The Perfect Wedding Guide, Sport Diver, and Southern Homes magazine (now Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle). HC also founded Distributech, which was the nation’s largest free publication distribution company at the time of liquidation.
Haas Aviation, originally inspired by HC’s need to fly staff executives across America, would ultimately evolve into an aviation brokerage company that was profitable in their first year. This aviation department of HC was one of several companies to become members of the “Angel Network”, which flew cancer patients and family members free of charge across America for medical treatments.
The Haas Corporation has also acquired and developed convenience stores as well as a variety of dynamic office buildings. Many companies in the portfolio of HC have had extraordinary annual revenue increase of over 100% per year and have self-funded every expansion. Haas Publishing, the parent company and founder of The Apartment Guides across America (now RentPath) was sold and is now owned by TPG Capital.
